During her undergraduate degree she played rugby union while studying abroad in the United States, then played league tag for Lismore Marist Brothers, before tearing my ACL playing Rugby 7s at Uni games.
In 2019 she decided to return to University to obtain her Masters of High Performance Sport, and was given an incredible opportunity to complete my strength and conditioning internship with Clemson in South Carolina. Her dream is to one day work for an NRL team as a S&C coach. She currently spends most of her free time coaching the local women’s rugby union team, and running conditioning for the local rugby league team.
Emma is super excited to see what this season brings and stoked to be able to chat footy every week on the podcast.

Gabbi always knew she wanted to work within rugby league. When she finished high school she studied a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science. During this time Gabbi worked for her local rugby league club as a trainer and a masseuse. When Gabbi graduated with her first degree, she then went onto do an honours degree, followed by a PhD. Gabbi's research primarily looks at Women’s involvement in Leadership Roles in Australian Rugby League. She believes it is so important to critique sport as it makes up so much of our social and cultural norms.
Gabbi currently works as a casual academic for the School of Allied Health, Exercise and Sports Sciences at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, where she can share her love of sport with her students.
